What We Do?
Taiko On presents a dynamic performance featuring synchronised drumming, energetic movement, traditional music, and vocal elements. Ideal for assemblies or school special events.

Hands-on Workshops
Students get to try playing Taiko themselves. No experience required! Through warm-ups, rhythm lessons, call-&-response, and guided practice, learners gain confidence and musicality.

Meet Our Passionate Japanese-Aussie Taiko Team
We’re proud to introduce our wonderful local team of talented Japanese–Aussie performers — passionate artists who bring the power and spirit of Taiko drumming to every performance and workshop.
Our ensemble features five skilled performers playing Taiko drums and Japanese bamboo flute (shinobue), combining traditional rhythms with vibrant energy that inspires audiences of all ages. With a collection of over 45 real leather Taiko drums, we can accommodate workshop groups of 30, 45, 90, or more, ensuring an engaging experience for every participant.
Beyond music, our programs include Japanese language elements, teaching greetings and phrases through chanting and repetition — making each session not only fun but also culturally enriching.
Dynamic, interactive, and educational, our team creates an atmosphere where everyone can feel the beat and have a go on the drums. Together, we share the joy of Taiko and celebrate the spirit of rhythm, teamwork, and culture.

“On the 23rd May we had Taiko-On come to St James’ Anglican School. They first workshopped with the Year 6 students. The workshop was high energy and motivating for the students. They were extremely engaged and enjoyed learning new techniques. They then performed to our Kindy to Year 8 students. Students were impressed with the physicality and precision of their playing. They performed original pieces on different types of drums and a traditional Japanese flute. I would recommend Taiko-On for an incursion for both Primary and Secondary Students. All students enjoyed it and I would get them back to school to do more workshops! Thank you Taiko-On.”
